So I have this fascination with the space between reality and cyberreality, and one thing that blurs that line is 3d imaging. So there are these awesome goggles at emagin.com, which run 3d by showing you two different displays, one for each eye (called stereovision). It'll run you about $900...
Or, you could spend a buck on two stamps and two envelopes and send a SASE to www.rainbowsymphony.com, which is how I got my glasses in the mail today.
Here's a 3d pic of me in my 3d glasses...
also, a 3d pic of my glasses.... oooo how meta...
and a little flash project, too.
Also to check out, some dude went through Quake II source code and modded a 3d version.
What's next? I challenge somebody to 3d-ify Second Life.

In other news, my brother landed me an interview with an IT staffing... um agency? resource? Anyhow, that's up for tuesday.
Also, I sent a resume over to gamelab.com to see if I was cool enough to work for them for free (or on a near-free "internship" basis). I think they're uber-cool, and I hope that the drooliness all over the cover letter doesn't hurt my chances. I mean, free, people! How hard is it to work somewhere for free?
Lately, I've been concentratin most of my time on the computer. I'm screwin' around on Dreamweaver, Premiere, Flash, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Director, and Ruby, a programming language that my brother is really into. Incidentally, all of these things, except Ruby, are owned by Adobe, since Macromedia is owned by Adobe. I'm an adobe slut. I've also been designing lights for a show going up next week.
And I've been drawing / sketching ideas that make me laugh - Here are two of em:
I don't know if this one reads well. It's the "can you hear me now" guy bashing in the skull of the person he's talking to w/ his cell phone. Looking back now, I think it was sorta inspired by this film (although I just sorta gave away the punchline of the film).
When I look at the second one, I can even hear the whirring fans cooling down overclocked processors.
Anyhow, here's a little site I came up w/ on my free time.

Enjoy!
I got a gig teaching NYC Asian Americans how to dance hip hop - well... sort of. Cao Fei was looking for a hip hop dancer to teach not-so-hip-hop Asians a few moves - mostly, as I understand it, as a funny way to clash Asians with hip hop. They showed me a video of Cao's past work, which sorta revolves around the idea that Asians who don't know how to dance hip hop and who try look really awkward.
In other news, I'm looking to get closer to the pulse of good liquid dancing out here in NYC through a close friend. I'm really itchin to dive in. However, in my quest on the internet, found the myspace of a liquid legend, Eric of the Liquid Pop Collective. His site features music from a group called Tortured Soul. Check it out.
The video is live and running - here's the link: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1229955585217270745
Also, I've been storyboarding a video that involves me pushing around virtual frames - look for it within the next couple of weeks.
