Choreography Job... sort of

I got a gig teaching NYC Asian Americans how to dance hip hop - well... sort of. Cao Fei was looking for a hip hop dancer to teach not-so-hip-hop Asians a few moves - mostly, as I understand it, as a funny way to clash Asians with hip hop. They showed me a video of Cao's past work, which sorta revolves around the idea that Asians who don't know how to dance hip hop and who try look really awkward.

In other news, I'm looking to get closer to the pulse of good liquid dancing out here in NYC through a close friend. I'm really itchin to dive in. However, in my quest on the internet, found the myspace of a liquid legend, Eric of the Liquid Pop Collective. His site features music from a group called Tortured Soul. Check it out.

Video done!

I finished my video just today and uploaded a copy to Google Video - it's awaiting approval. So until then, I uploaded a copy of it onto this geocities site, but only one copy per 24 hr period can be downloaded because of bandwidth restrictions.

Putfile.com is on maintenance for the night, but perhaps tomorrow it'll be on there.

Also, I'm working on a mural on a wall based off of a design I sketched out a while back. The design is four inches tall, but the wall is eight feet tall. I've got the most intricate piece cut out of the foam board and taped to the wall.

I'm up

Hey everyone - The purpose of this blog is for me to share the ideas I come up with so that I'll find myself actually doing them in a relatively timely manner.

Right now I'm in the process of choreographing a video of me dancing to some Aphex Twin, featuring digits - a micromanaged style of dance involving individual fingers.

I'm also brainstorming a ideas for a dance involving a projector, a flying / floating / levitating toaster, and / or a fireball (who knows how I'll manage to pull this one off).

Anyhow, I'll keep y'all posted.
